In a galaxy far, far away, the battles waged between the Jedi and their adversaries have always ended in a well-trained real-life Jedi, and Ahsoka‘s Ivanna Sakhno is living proof of that.
Recommended VideosDuring a recent interview with EW, Sakhno revealed the extraordinary lengths she went to in preparation for her role in Ahsoka. While many may associate grueling workouts and physical transformations exclusively with Marvel actors, Sakhno dispels this notion, proving that the Star Wars universe demands just as much from its cast. The Ukrainian-American actress embraced the challenge wholeheartedly, immersing herself in intense training sessions to master the agility needed to execute Shin’s fight sequences.
“I was doing ice baths two times a week,” the actress said, gloating about working alongside the Ahsoka fight coordinator Ming Qiu for months, enduring a long training period for the series. It is no secret that standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the legendary Jedi is no easy feat, however, the actress embodies the resilience and dedication it takes to thrive in the midst of this otherworldly battle.
While Shin’s role in the series is still unknown, Sakhno will work alongside a star-studded cast for Ahsoka. Joining her on the cast will be Rosario Dawson, the late Ray Stevenson — who passed away on May 21 — Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Hayden Christensen, and Lars Mikkelsen. The series will also constitute an integral part of Star Wars lore, though deciphering the exact timeline in which the story takes place might prove challenging due to its multitude of intricate timelines within the franchise.
As for its release date, Ahsoka is expected to be released in August on Disney Plus.
