Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, 25-year-old hairstylist Shaquilla Robinson jetted down to Cabo on October 28, 2022, to ring in her milestone birthday with pals. Her loved ones had no idea what happened to cause her death so quickly.
Shanquella’s mother Salamondra Robinson told the Queen City News that the last time she spoke to her daughter was shortly before her death, and that her daughter had informed her, “She told me they had a chef.” Preparations for lunch were being made. They appeared to be enjoying a meal of tacos or a salad.

The official cause of death for Shanquella is listed as serious spinal cord damage and atlas luxation. Shanquella was “found unconscious in her living room,” according to the police report.
Despite Shanquella’s broken neck, police said there was no sign of foul play in her death.
The family of Shanquella is worried that her close pals may have had something to do with her untimely death.
The young lady’s friends began contacting Salamondra excitedly the day after they arrived in Cabo to inform her that her daughter was ill. “They said she wasn’t feeling well,” she recalled being told. She died of alcohol poisoning. No one could detect a heartbeat.
When her mother heard that “each one of the persons who was there with her was telling different stories,” she got skeptical.
The family contacted the FBI and Mexican authorities because of the discrepancies. The mysterious circumstances surrounding Shanquella’s death were revealed at that time.
An autopsy ruled out alcohol as a contributing factor in Shanquella’s death, so her loved ones are left to wonder what happened to cause such severe trauma.
I never trusted them because they never told the same narrative,” Salamondra says.
The circumstances surrounding Shanquella’s death are unclear, although it is known that she did not leave the villa the night before and that a housekeeper found her body the next morning.
The Villa Linda 32 was home for the group. A representative from the company told the media that her friends had called the day after their arrival, Saturday, to beg for assistance.
Reports indicate that a doctor was called to the hotel room and immediately began CPR on the young woman. Fifteen minutes later, she passed away.
